Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata Flat (冴えない彼女の育てかた♭, Saenai Hiroin no Sodatekata Furatto,Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata Flat) is a 2017 anime television series based on the light novel series of the same name and the sequel to the first season. The second season of the anime was announced on May 3, 2015, with the main staff and cast returning from the previous season to reprise their roles. It aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina block from April 13, 2017 to June 23, 2017 running for 12 episodes, with a special episode streamed on April 5, 2017. The opening theme song for the second season is "Stella Breeze" (ステラブリーズ, Sutera Burīzu) by Luna Haruna, while the ending theme song are "Sakurairo Diary" (桜色ダイアリー, lit. Sakura-Colored Diary) for episode 0 to 10 and "Seishun Prologue" (青春プロローグ, lit. Youth Prologue) for episode 11, both sung by Moso Calibration. The second season streamed exclusively on Amazon Video.
After finally completing the first route of his visual novel, Blessing Software's producer Tomoya Aki is optimistic about the future of his team and achieving their goal of creating the best game of the season.
However, they still have a long way to go. For one, Megumi Katou still has an incredibly flat personality and is unable to fit the role of Tomoya's ideal heroine. The other members of Blessing Software, Eriri Spencer Sawamura, Utaha Kasumigaoka, and Michiru Hyoudou, often forget she is even there due to her lack of presence and character.
Throughout the development of their game, Blessing Software learns the struggles of working in an industry where deadlines must be met and edits are made constantly, and the hardships of working in a group setting.
